Real estate prices are riding the global realty bubble and local speculation (partly true). However, from what I've heard lately, it's slowing down though not fast enough. Tricity faces a unique situation: the NRI population of Punjab, Himachal and Haryana prefers to buy houses, land and invest in Chandigarh. They typically do it through agents who push through the high prices. A few sales here and there keeps the speculation and rumours alive and the rest is taken care of by the real big bubble.

More important than the realty problem is the infrastructure problem. High congestion situations at school-off time and near exhibitions is a good example. The inter- and intra-city transportation. Can you believe there is still only one road from Chandigarh into Panchkula? I mean... *sheeeeeeesh*!

Thanks for the compliment. :)
